While living in the Lower East Side of New York City in the early 80s, Hawrysio found a set of photographs on the street and subjected them to various substances that eroded the emulsion and softened the gelatin binder, before scratching the surface to create these haunting and cryptic images. The text was added in 1985 using a typewriter found on the street in London.
