Odessa, Ontario, in the 1980s was what could be described as a one-horse town; it had no significant industry, no tourist attractions. With only one major road called Main Street running through it, and a few small businesses, it was a typical rural Ontario small town. With an etching plate under her arm, Hawrysio walked around the town for a few hours, inviting people she met to draw or write something on the plate.
